about us

Chatine, a mountain village in Lebanon, is distinguished by its remarkable geology and natural heritage. At its heart lies the Baatara Gorge Sinkhole Waterfall, a world renowned wonder where three natural bridges span a dramatic limestone chasm. These formations, carved over millennia, symbolize the connections Chatine 365 seeks to build — between people, nature, and the wider world.

For generations, the village endured economic hardship and seasonal isolation. Harsh winters made it inaccessible, leading many residents to migrate and leaving behind a fragmented community life. Yet today, changing conditions have made Chatine more reachable throughout the year, opening new possibilities for renewal.

Chatine 365 is a joint project of Al Massar Association and the Chatine Municipality. Its purpose is to transform Chatine into a year round destination where geology, culture, and community converge. By fostering ecotourism, creating local jobs, and celebrating the village’s unique landscapes, Chatine 365 aims to strengthen the economy and restore community bonds, ensuring that Chatine’s natural and cultural treasures are shared and sustained for generations to come.
